The famous Swedish music reviewer Olle Berggren expresses himself like this about "Yvette Eklund Band"
NEXT SENSATION ON THE LOCAL ROOTS SCENE!
This will resonate in Music Sweden,
Yvette Eklund Bands have been lying and fooling around for a while in the local Americana reed. I was a little (positively) shocked when I stepped into the rehearsal room. Here was everything that filled my Rock'n'roll book. First thought of Delaney & Bonnie with friends, then Yvette's songs drew on JJ Cale as well as Ry Cooder, Susan Tedeschi and Little Feat (Time Down Lowell George). An already finished band with ex-Wilmer Mats Bengtsson on organ, piano, accordion, Wurlitzer, you name it. Got a little feel for Muscle Shoals. Heavy rhythm section, rumbling B3-like sounds, dobro, slide, banjo, mandolin and sometimes Yvette on dulcimer when we move to Carter Family. All material is own and soon the recordings will continue to the band's debut album. This is the place where country meets soul, folk and rock'n'roll.
